CAPE VERDE KITE & COWORK ADVENTURE

Two islands. One month. Starting from €1,790. Work, kite, explore, repeat. Escape winter and spend February working remotely, kitesurfing and exploring two of Cape Verde’s most exciting islands with a small group of like-minded people.

Sal + Boa Vista | February 2027

We’ll spend 19 days in Sal, based in lively Santa Maria, giving us plenty of time to work remotely, kite, explore different spots and enjoy island life.

Then we’ll pack our kite bags and take the ferry across to Boa Vista for the final 11 days — a wilder chapter of the adventure, exploring different kite spots, beautiful beaches and the island beyond the water.

This isn’t a traditional kite camp or an organised tour where every minute is planned.

It’s a month of living, working and kiting together — with organised kite adventures, weekend trips, local experiences and plenty of freedom to do your own thing.

Work. Kite. Explore. Repeat.

Kite. Work. Explore Cape Verde.

Ilha do Sal

1 -19 February

Sal is made for an easy outdoor rhythm: work, kite, sunset, dinner, repeat.

We’ll be based in Santa Maria, a lively beach town full of colourful streets, cafés, restaurants, beach bars and live music. Evenings are easy — dinner by the beach listening to incredible local musicians, sunset drinks with the group or dancing into the night.

And then there’s the wind. 🪁 Sal is one of Cape Verde’s best-known kitesurfing destinations and home to Mitu Monteiro, Cape Verde’s first kitesurfing world champion. Right on Kite Beach, the Mitu & Djo Kite School has a beachfront restaurant, bar and a real kite-community atmosphere — perfect for riding, learning or watching some seriously good local riders.

And February brings something extra — Carnival! 🇨🇻🎭 Expect colourful parades, dancing and plenty of Cape Verdean energy.

Barefoot, windy, musical and relaxed — that’s Sal.

Ilha Boa Vista

19-28 February

After the energy of Sal, we’ll take the ferry across to Boa Vista for the final 11 days — where life gets a little wilder.

We’ll be based in Sal Rei, a colourful, laid-back town with great restaurants, beautiful sunsets and live music. Morabeza Beach Bar will likely become our second home — right in front of the kite spot, with super-friendly staff, great food and drinks, and magical sunsets after a day on the water.

Right next door is the Duotone Pro Center, closely connected to Cape Verdean pro rider Matchu Lopes, one of the biggest names in wave kitesurfing, who also hosts kite camps on the island. The conditions here are wavier and a little more challenging, making it an exciting place to progress, with lessons, coaching and rescue-boat support available.

We’ll explore different kite spots around the island — including some flatter-water options — chase the best conditions and head off on kite and island adventures. And when the kites come down, we’ll explore Sal Rei, with Sodade a favourite for incredible Cape Verdean musicians, food, drinks and dancing.

Wild, windy, wavy and adventurous — that’s Boa Vista.

💻 BUILT FOR REMOTE WORK

This isn't a holiday where you need to take a month off work.

The trip is designed around people who work remotely.

We'll have reliable internet and spaces where you can work during the day, while still making the most of the wind.

Some days that might mean working in the morning and kiting in the afternoon.

Other days we might shift things around to catch the best conditions.

That's the beauty of spending a month here.

We have time.

🪁 WHAT IF I'M A BEGINNER?

You don't need to be an advanced kitesurfer to join us.

Sal is particularly good for people who are still learning or building confidence, with several established kite schools where lessons can be arranged.

If you're completely new to kitesurfing, we can connect you with local instructors.

Lessons aren't included in the trip price, so everyone can choose the amount of coaching they need.

Boa Vista can have more challenging, wavier conditions, so we'll always take ability and conditions into account when choosing where to kite.

Safety comes first.

🏄‍♀️ ALREADY AN INDEPENDENT KITER?

Even better.

The idea isn't simply to ride the same spot every day.

We'll explore different conditions, organise kite adventures and downwinders where appropriate, and encourage each other to progress.

Whether you're working on transitions, jumps, tricks, waves or simply becoming a more confident independent rider, there should be plenty to challenge you.

And there is no competition here.

One of my favourite things about our previous kite trips has been seeing everyone cheering each other on.

🌍 MORE THAN A KITE TRIP

There’s much more to Cape Verde than wind and kites.

We’ll use our weekends and no-wind days to explore — island road trips, hidden beaches, local food, swimming, snorkelling, desert landscapes and some pretty unforgettable sunsets.

February also means Carnival 🇨🇻🎭 — colourful streets, parades, dancing and a chance to experience the islands at their liveliest.

And then there’s the music. Cape Verde has an incredible music culture, and some of our favourite evenings will simply be finding a local restaurant or bar, listening to live musicians over dinner and ending up dancing with the group.

Not everything will be planned months in advance. We’ll follow the wind, weather and island rhythm — leaving plenty of room for spontaneous adventures along the way.

🏡 LIFE TOGETHER

We'll stay together in comfortable shared accommodation on both islands.

Expect a relaxed communal atmosphere rather than a hotel.

We'll work together, cook and eat together sometimes, go out for dinner, kite together and probably spend far too much time discussing tomorrow's wind forecast. 😄

You'll still have space to do your own thing.

The goal isn't to organise every hour of your day.

It's to create a small community where adventures happen naturally.

❤️ WHO IS THIS FOR?

This trip is for you if you:

🪁 Love kitesurfing or genuinely want to learn
💻 Can work remotely or take an extended break
🌍 Prefer adventures to resorts
👋 Are travelling solo and want people to share the experience with
🌊 Want to progress your riding
☀️ Want to escape winter
🥂 Enjoy dinners, laughs and spontaneous plans
❤️ Prefer encouragement and progression over competition

Most people join our trips solo, so don't worry about arriving without knowing anyone.

That's kind of the point.

SMALL GROUP. BIG ADVENTURE.

This isn't a mass-market kite camp.

We'll keep the group small so we can travel together, organise adventures easily and actually get to know each other.

If one month of sunshine, remote work, kitesurfing, island hopping and exploring Cape Verde sounds like your kind of February...

Come join us. 🇨🇻🪁🌴

COWORK. KITE. REPEAT.

We’re Sara and Valerie, and we met the way many of the best kite friendships begin — on a kite trip. 🪁

Since then, we’ve shared sessions, travelled, hosted kite adventures and met some incredible people along the way. For us, kitesurfing has always been about much more than the sport itself — it’s the adventure, progression, friendships and community that come with it.

Cape Verde is particularly special to Sara. Sal was one of the places where she learned to kite four years ago, right at the beginning of her kite journey. Since then, kitesurfing has taken her around the world, eventually bringing her back to Cape Verde to discover Boa Vista — and fall in love with its wild beaches, waves, friendly kite community and laid-back island life.

Sara has also been hosting digital nomads at Belavista in the Algarve since 2020, where she created her first kitesurf coliving experience, later taking the concept to Brazil.

Now we’re bringing it all together in Cape Verde — returning to where part of the journey began and exploring two very different islands together.

This trip brings together everything we love: remote work, kitesurfing, warm wind, island hopping, live music, shared meals, downwinders, sunsets and the kind of people who say yes to adventure.
